Q:       What does unclaimed property letter mean?

 

A:        If you've received a letter from Financial Institutions (e.g. Banks, Credit Union, etc.), Insurance Company or stocks trading company, or a check or other asset has been issued to you that has not yet been cashed or claimed. It is Indicating that you have unclaimed property, forgotten or abandoned. This means, Sort of speak "A warning Letter" before your asset(s) is send to the State's Treasury or Controller Office. In turn a second letter or notice is sent out from the State holding the asset(s).

 

Q:       Is abandoned property advisors/Investigator legitimate?

 

A:        The California State Controller’s Office (SCO) Unclaimed Property Division does not require licensing, registering as an Investigator is strongly encouraged and recommended. Contact California State Controller’s Office for information.

 

Q:       Is there any up-front fees to initiate the claim process?

 

A:        No! Absolute no up-front fee.. When our service is secured by you the client, then a

Client-Investigator agreement will be presented, provided by California State Controller’s Office (SCO) Unclaimed Property Division.
